Bueno Milonga

The two weeks of intensive Spanish classes for two hours a day finally paid off when Profesor Alejandro and Profeseura Macerena presented us with our diplomas! Okay, they're actually certificates stating that we've completed only the first part of Beginner, Level 1 — but, it felt like a graduation to us!

To celebrate, we again meet up with our new amiga, Julie-Anne who takes us to a real tango milonga in Bs. As, held in the Confiteria Ideal building, another great example of old world construction and design.

Who knew a tango milonga had so many rules? Jenn was sure to keep her eyes adverted as the men at a milonga will signal they wish to invite a woman to dance by making eye contact. As for me, I had more than a few older ladies looking for a young, handsome tango partner. It's bad enough I can't even speak Spanish not to mention, "No yo tango..."

Julie-Anne had her tango heels on hand and showed us how it's done. She looks pretty nimble on the dance floor. A real pro!

It was such a great way to end our time in Buenos Aires and we so enjoy spending time with a gentle spirit such as Julie-Anne!
