Stoked For Mount Stokes

The hike up Mount Stokes is an arduous one — the sign says 5 hours return to complete the trip, but we figure we can do it in 4. Which we do, but it is tough going.

Especially up. No neat and tidily maintained gravel lined trail, this is a clamber over roots and rocks and through the bracken, being mindful to find stable footing.



It starts out with some cloud cover and we hope for clear skies when we reach the top.

Finally, after much huffing and puffing (whining from Jenn) we summit the summit. We get some good views below as the clouds drift by, obscuring, then revealing the Sounds.











On the way down, it is more nimble footwork. We get some more views of the sounds looking out.
