Drive Thru Sydney

It's in and out of the big, hectic metropolis of Sydney — a day and a half to check out the town before boarding our very long flight tomorrow to Buenos Aires.

It's a bit of an adjustment after quiet, simple Tasmania. We manage to get around and see a few attractions. Tops on the list for me was the Sydney Aquarium, which incidentally is located right outside our 4 Points Sheraton Hotel.

Wondering how we landed this sweet bed for two nights? Us too! One of those "mystery deals" on an online hotel site. Tick the super low rate and roll the dice — hey you're at the SHERATON! So nice to take a shower without wearing flip flops...

Highlights from the aquarium are below, including those SHACKS (that's Australian for sharks..)

Afterwards, we had a yummy Indian dinner out and took in Darlington Harbour at night.

Today it was a bunch of bank and online nonsense, getting things ready for Bueno Aires. But still time to walk through the botanical gardens, see the Sydney Harbour Bridge and a skate through the 2011 Archibald Prize portrait exhibit at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

And we're NOT showing that opera place on the blog. Jenn is adamant. We did glance at it and, yes, after a few pints, it looks just like we thought it would...

Har har.
